The intuition is why I was a little confused because I could see it swinging both ways, but most of the time we see him open-minded to possibilities (every time he tells Riku that hey maybe people are actually killing people here, or his patience with Mino and entertaining her), so I put Ne (as a compliment to his Fe). The only times I think he does use Ni is in his conversations with Naki; when considering possibilities (like a future dream) his first thought isn’t to say what he wants to do despite reality, but what’s most realistic for him. The answer to Naki’s question when he asked him about his future dreams was to first think about how he has to inherit the family business, adding that he doesn’t really see it happening (another realistic factor to consider that comes from introspection rather than purely the external environment, which if it was just from the external environment, would be him only practicing Fe and trying to keep the peace). He later says that he really wants to become a teacher - and words it with “if I weren’t being locked in by my family, I might aspire to being a teacher myself” rather than “I actually want to become a teacher instead”, still considering the fact that his parents are locking him into their family business even when he’s invited to talk about what he actually wants to do when he’s older. This could be because in this moment, he’s talking about something that troubles him rather than what he normally does, which I think is healthy and does show his depth a little more. Most of it is Ne, though. Yoinara says that Zero could probably eat a lot of food, and although Karuta is a foodie and definitely recommended going to the candy store for the boys to eat out, he also says that “nah, well, with sweets, it’s bad to ingest too much at once”. Zero probably had a really bad accident with the last sundae they ate, and although Karuta does recommend it to Naki since it’ll make you “eat until you drop!”, he also doesn’t generalize experiences and probably won’t recommend the same to Zero. Probably goes to an abura soba shop with specifically Riku, whenever he hangs out with Riku, because he wants Riku to eat more of what he thinks Riku likes. (Riku uses the fact that he hangs out with Karuta to deny this, implying he’s at the abura soba shop solely because Karuta enjoys abura soba, when it might not be the full story.) It looks like it’s also a sign of Si naturally wanting to establish a routine - which is why he goes out with Riku to get abura soba enough times that Riku’s questioning how he can eat abura soba so often. In general, when it comes to his want to support others, he mostly defaults to Ne since it looks like he doesn’t just suggest doing things based on spontaneity. It only looks like he does because he has incredible social skills, but there is logic to what he does recommend and what he doesn’t, especially in terms of adapting to different people. We get the chance to see inferior Ti a little more during the trial and after the trial. Particularly under stress of the possibility of people getting killed! He’s the only one really skeptical about Rokuro, saying that he doesn’t know how to explain it but he’s a little curious about Rokuro’s dream-like description of his death. When Yoinara probes further, Karuta says that since only Rokuro actually saw it, it would be hard to verify his account with another statement. Not related, but Karuta’s line of reasoning wasn’t off - Rokuro did misrepresent what he knew about Kashima and what he knew about the apparent Ayakashi to put blame on her; even though it looked like her, it really wasn’t and he could tell, but just in case it was Rokuro had to leave that possibility out there.
