Tong is a sx 6w7 (counterphobic/countertype). From the very beginning, we see him putting on a brave front and a facade of intimidation to prevent others from messing with him, despite how sensitive he actually is and his tendency to cry easily. When Zhen sees him crying, what was Tong's first reaction? To threaten him: "If you talk **** in class, I'm going to wipe the floor with you! Don't say I didn't warn you! Got it?" But Zhen sees through his facade and simply says "Playing tough, huh?" This isn't the distraction from negative emotions of an E7 or the narcotization of anger in order to have internal peace of an E9, but the unstable reactivity and counterphobic tendencies of a sx 6. Tong shows divergent thinking (Ne) and makes loose tangential connections between concepts- like how he said "I'm Batman!" When coming to someone's rescue and being asked "who are you?" He is also guided by what is internally right for him and focuses on ethical consistency and personal values (Fi) > social norms/social values/moral heuristics (Fe, compare Tong to Bai who is a tert Fe user ESTP). He does not have issues with Te (inductive reasoning/generalization/heuristics), so I see ENFP > INFP.
