To me he seems like a clear example of a Fi dom... And Se as his auxiliary function. Not going with ISFP because that's the stereotypical answer for an artist, but after watching a documentary of his career I honestly feel like ISFP fits way more than INTP. His tritype would be 478 or a different combination of those numbers. I'm a 469 and have issues with inaction and being uncertain of myself. David has acted on impulse without worry and I feel like although he does overthink especially during his depressive periods, it doesn't stop him from doing what he wants to do. I'd say he's too free from analysis paralysis to be a 469.
