Whoaw guys! Hold up. The movie was literally about his Se-Te. Not once did the guy get tripped buy Inf Te. His whole dynamic and interaction with big Z was to make him develop and be in touch with his Inf Ni. If you guys interact with real life ESFPs especially within the workplace and under stress they have an intense tunnel vision. A brute force immediate need to accomplish tasks and goals. Cody was hellbent on just the win, he wasnt surfing for surfings sake although he really loves it. He surpressed his Fi, leaving Big Z behind which is why he got chewed up by Lani. "The trophy is all you care about, right" Speaking of which when they were on thier first "date" surfing through the volcano Lani states, "Stop fighting it, Cody. Let go." Which is the whole freaking theme of the damn movie. He is stiff and paranoid with the action itself cause his Inf Ni is what's giving that paranoia, it is unfamiliar to him. Cody was tasked orientated. Showing Te preference. His Fi is strong no doubt but it feeds INTO his Se...not vice versa. Thats the whole conflict of the movie. End of the movie when he finally "lets go" for Joe, THAT is when we see his Fi shine through again. escaping from his tunnel vision-his Se-Te loop. Compare him to the actual ISFP chicken Joe. The guy has no issues with his Ni at all and his Inf Te is hilariously but evidently undermined (and he doesnt give af).
