"Jack Torrance은 어떤 성격 유형입니까? Jack Torrance은 mbti의 ESTP 성격 유형입니다. enneagram의 6w7 - sp/sx - 683, big 5의 SLUEN, socionics의 SLE입니다."

Just rewatched the movie and I'll say this: I see an ESTP who's in a Ni-grip. Jack is a man who feels unfulfiled with his current situation. His job as a teacher is, as he puts it, "a way to make ends meet," for him as a writer. The visions the hotel offers of him as the primary caretaker, surrounded by people who serve him, a life of luxury, is his ideal. He becomes so enraptured with this ideal to the point where his current life isn't just unfulfilling, it's a nightmare. His wife and son are no longer just a part of his life, they are active antagonists and want to watch him fail and remain in his mundane life in his eyes. Unhealthy Ni is characterized by a dissatisfaction with one's surroundings, his argument with Wendy while he was writing (the first time in the movie where he was verbally abusive) was because Wendy's presence broke his concentration. Jack has a clear standard for his own writing and has an agressive one-track mind. His train of thought (Ni) being interupted by Wendy's presence (Se) resulted in his outburst. To my understanding, while grips are an obvious focus on the inferior function, it seems the frequency of cognitive functions also seems to reverse. So in Jack's case, instead of him normally using Se-Ti-Fe-Ni in that order, he would use Ni-Fe-Ti-Se, albeit not in a healthy manner. Jack has been shown to be a manipulative Fe user, and while EXTPs use their Fe to appear charismatic and capable in the face of colleagues (his introductory scene), in an unhealthy way Fe can be used to manipulate others. Jack uses his Fe on multiple ocassions in an attempt to trick Wendy into becoming passive. This can be seen in the bat scene and the freezer scene the most. I'll continue on his Ti and Se in a reply to this.
