Each version of Max is a little different but he's an aimless drifter, living day by day, one can of dog food and gas can at a time. He has no goals beyond this, nothing to live for. Might've had that once with his family, but that part of him is long gone, what we see is him at his core. The Road Warrior highlights this most explicitly, he's fine living like a vulture on a dead world and has to be coaxed or forced into caring about others, and even then he always drives off in the distance to do it all over again. Taken to it's most extreme in the game, where he believes that he must construct a car in order to achieve tranquility. It doesn't get more stereotypically ISTP than Max.

"Mad" Max Rockatansky, sometimes referred to as "The Road Warrior," is the protagonist from director George Miller's Mad Max series, appearing in the films Mad Max, Mad Max: The Road Warrior, Mad Max: Beyond Thunderdome, Mad Max: Fury Road, and the fifth installment in the franchise, Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga. Max was first portrayed by Mel Gibson in the original trilogy and most recently Tom Hardy in the re-imagined series.
