My quick thoughts on Duncan's enneagram: [1/2] I've noticed there's a lot of people making the argument that Duncan doesn't rebel for any purpose and for "fun alone", and thus is contradictory to E8 and is instead more in keeping with E7. I believe this is a pretty overgeneralization of both of these enneatypes, as neither one rebels for the sake of "fun" only. E7 is described by Naranjo as rebelling for an intellectual reason and being the "ideologists of the revolution" rather than the activist, meanwhile E8 does it so that way they can assert vengeance on those who they believe are responsible for the injustices that they went through as a child. Therefore, if we're being specific, this statement about Duncan would contradict BOTH E7 and E8. Having said that, if we had to pick one, Sexual 8 would still be the better choice over E7 if we're making this argument. Let's take a look at what Naranjo and other authors say about both E7 and E8: >"𝐓𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡 𝐥𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝐢𝐭𝐬𝐞𝐥𝐟 𝐢𝐦𝐩𝐥𝐢𝐞𝐬 𝐚𝐧 𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐫𝐞𝐛𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐢𝐧 𝐢𝐭𝐬 𝐚𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐫𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐨𝐩𝐩𝐨𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐭𝐨 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐢𝐧𝐡𝐢𝐛𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐨𝐟 𝐩𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐮𝐫𝐞, 𝐫𝐞𝐛𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐬 𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐚𝐬 𝐚 𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐭 𝐨𝐧 𝐢𝐭 𝐨𝐰𝐧, 𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐢𝐧 𝐞𝐧𝐧𝐞𝐚-𝐭𝐲𝐩𝐞 𝐕𝐈𝐈𝐈 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐧 𝐢𝐧 𝐚𝐧𝐲 𝐨𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫 𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐞𝐫. Duncan is the ideologist of the rebellion, and not the activist? If so, we watched two completely different shows. If we look at this dichotomy between both E7 and E8 between one who is the intellectual of the rebellion and one who is the activist, we see that E8 fits Duncan significantly better in this regard rather than E7. Rebellion for the sake of rebellion also fits E8 significantly better than E7, which is why I'm not sure as to why people are using it as a reason to type his as E7. >"𝐀 𝐬𝐞𝐱𝐮𝐚𝐥 𝐞𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭 𝐡𝐚𝐬 𝐚 𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐲 𝐭𝐨𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐝 𝐬𝐨𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐝𝐞𝐭𝐚𝐜𝐡𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭. This here, along with the quote before, pretty effectively debunks the notion that E8, specifically Sexual 8, necessarily rebels for some specific statement or to do so for some grand reason, which some people are implying is somehow out of character with E8, when in reality, it is more out of character with E7 if anything. Also, take a look at what Naranjo says about Lust:
전기
Duncan is the definition of a bad boy, being a crafty, cool juvenile delinquent who comes from a long line of policemen and policewomen: his dad, mom, uncle, aunt, grandma and cousins are all cops. He knows many tactics from his time spent in juvenile detention centers. He can carve a picture of a skull into a tree trunk and lift great amounts of weight (such as Owen, who is more than three times his size). He has a brooding, obnoxious, sarcastic and flirtatious personality. Duncan loves to break rules to better suit himself, but sometimes the consequences are worse than what he intended. Duncan also loves to make fun of the other contestants and pull several pranks on them, with Harold being his main victim. He considers himself as being "straight with people", rarely pretending to be what he isn't. As a result, he has been shown to either get along with or make fierce enemies with his fellow competitors, although it is more than often the latter.
