Neville is an unexpectedly difficult character to type! Definitely a feeler, but otherwise...it's a little unclear. I understand where people are coming from with regards to his Si. However, I think this may be explained by his childhood. He almost certainly has some PTSD (his grandmother, his primary guardian, certainly does!), which would have had a tremendous effect on his nervous system, cognition, etc. and would explain his poor memory, poor academic capacity (especially around people like Snape who overwhelm him and thus aggravate these qualities), and clumsiness. He's constantly overwhelmed, likely depressed, and clearly very anxious. So the poor memory, etc. may not be a function of low Si but rather trauma. It's also implied that his childhood was rather sheltered and that his grandmother was quite controlling, so the breadth of his experience may have been limited, which, again, could have impacted the "obviousness" of his Si. As a child, he had little to draw on. To me, his interests are more in line with high Si over any other function (Herbology, taking care of his community, etc.). I can't see Ne or Ni anywhere. It's possible that, as people are suggesting, he's an INFP with very underdeveloped/non-demonstrative Ne, but, in this case, I prefer the simpler explanation. High Fe is far more likely than high Te. Thus, ISFJ.
