imo she is definitely a 3. Irl she neglected her family for her career and she didn't seem driven by making any real friends at all. She was apparently extremely introverted and quite lonely especially during her later years because unlike a 2 she didn't seem very driven to get along very well with the others. She also most likely wasn't a 4 because she tried to keep a happy facade in front of other people and rarely let her true emotions and personal issues show to anybody. One person even said she might've repressed her trauma. She also cared more about her career to the point that she lost close contact with her family and cared about looking good in front others. For example she apparently enjoyed being kinda extravagant around others with like the way she dressed and stuff. She was heavily ambitious and clearly apparently if I know my facts correctly enough was willing to put her career above basically everything else at a time in her life including her close relationships and possibly even so she could avoid dealing with her own negative emotions from her past ect ( as I theorize based on info I've learned about her recently). She's obviously some kind of image type. But I'm not entirely sure if she's 3w2 or 3w4. She's basically highly creative, original and expressive enough ( at least of certain usually positive emotions) enough to be 3w4. But her facade that she apparently seemed to put up to her personal life seems more 3w2. And obviously apparently she probably rarely expressed obviously deeply negative emotions especially related to her personal life ect within her music for the most part. And tbf the extravagant part could also technically be a 4 thing. She just seems to mainly be to obsessed with hiding negativity and care to much about mainly dressing up her a quite solid amount of her social image for me to be seriously convinced she's actually a 3w4 right now. I'm currently confused about her mbti because technically it would make since for her to be introverted feeling because she is extremely shy and introverted but also it doesn't make much sense imo for someone who is if to be this obsessed with her social image as she apparently clearly was according to some people. Especially probably not an INFP or maybe even an ENFP imo. Because they both have a very high fi. But if bebop is actually based on extroverted intuition it doesn't make much since for her to be a type with stronger ef that lacks it much either. Edit: I might've changed my mind since I learned that 3w4s and 4s apparently especially sp 4s in general sometimes can hide their emotions. I still think she's definitely a 3 but I'm actually considering 3w4 more now even though she clearly hid her emotions for her image and stuff like I said. it would make since considering how edgy she apparently actually was around her friends sometimes. That they all basically thought she seemed depressed constantly even though she obviously tried to hide it a lot. But also because that's obviously the much more popular consensus here. even though I seriously doubt most people here actually seem to know as much info about her actual personality irl as I do outside of her music and basic facts and stuff about her. I'll probably try to make my vote seem more popular mostly. I don't think she really had any of the fixation on being special or unique or even really different compared to other's that a 4 is actually supposed to have. she was known for being extremely humble and she didn't seem to use her status or personal experiences to distinguish herself as having a unique or special identity compared to other's. she was creative enough to be a 4 but I think a lot of people misunderstood that isn't really what being a 4 is supposed to actually be about. especially because most people probably didn't do as much research on her actual personality like I did. she also didn't seem to try to use her pain or negative emotions to try to distinguish herself from others in anyway outwardly or probably even inwardly as special or unique or kind of inherently different compared to other's like a 4 usually does. she also didn't seem to have any envy for anybody. she also didn't seem to try to openly or even inwardly distinguish herself as special or unique compared to anybody for her achievements and the experiences and talent that she had.

Ella Jane Fitzgerald (April 25, 1917 – June 15, 1996) was an American jazz singer sometimes referred to as the First Lady of Song, Queen of Jazz, and Lady Ella. She was noted for her purity of tone, impeccable diction, phrasing, intonation, and a "horn-like" improvisational ability, particularly in her scat singing.
