"Marty Mauser은 어떤 성격 유형입니까? Marty Mauser은 mbti의 ENTP 성격 유형입니다. enneagram의 3w4 - SP7 - 738, big 5의 SLUEI, socionics의 ILE입니다."

Started writing this and then totally forgot…here’s my detailed analysis of his ENTP arc Marty Supreme is about possibility and limits.  Because the movie is a personality study, I’ll just summarize his character and assign relevant mbti points as they come. High Ne and low Si: When we meet him, he’s playing the persona of a shoe salesman, but mentally, he’s already in London defeating Kletzki and claiming the title of ping pong champion. Limits and obstacles do not exist to him, and anyone that tries to impose rules upon him is someone he cannot tolerate. People try to convince him not to keep racing towards his desired future, but because they’re pointing to his limits, he’s unwilling to engage with them. Usable Ti: He cannot be reasoned with. His internal logic is sound to him, and he requires nobody’s approval or agreement. His headspace is “money exists somewhere, it’s possible I can win this money, therefore, I’ll act like I own this money already.” Shallow Fe: In London, he’s in his element. His Fe comes out as being charming, performing sincerity, and attention-bombing and love-bombing folks. However, his Fe is situational, and this movie’s a great depiction of situational Fe; warm, responsive, and real-feeling, but not lingering. Secondary Ti and low Si: Marty loses to Endo, and he cannot out-think or out-talk that; it’s reality, but it’s a limit, and so he refuses to slow down and integrate this experience. There is no lesson learned. He is in flight-mode when consequences appear; he tries to outrun them. He runs away from the cops, from his family, from Ira, from the fool boys they hustle, from the mobster, from the shotgun dog-stealer, and he certainly runs from poor, pregnant Rachel (I’m an ISFJ and was very empathetic to her situation, for worse or worse). Even when BANNED from the World Championship, he refuses to even sit still with it for a second, and he immediately adapts to the stories, hustles, and angles he must have in order to block out the reality he doesn’t want to embrace as real. It’s not his baby. High Ne: His uncle says he’d be best if he was selling shoes, poor Rachel wants him to be her husband, the vampire says he’d be best as a performer, and they’re all correct, and that’s what makes Marty such an Ne. He is good at whatever he sets his mind to…he just doesn’t want to do anything but ping pong. Low Si: He doesn’t seem to “remember,” or at least, he never focuses-on or discusses lingering baggage unless it’s to make something happen for the present. It’s always “what’s next,” and Marty never stays still long enough to slow down and feel. Because this is his approach, he’s insensitive to Rockwell, who is deeply hurt by the comment about his deceased son…maybe Marty can “forget and move on to make peace,” but he doesn’t understand others can’t; he’s successfully able to push around most people, and he doesn’t understand why he can’t push Rockwell around the same way. Lower Fe: He goes through the social actions, but he doesn’t really mean it. He’s not apologizing, but he is “saying the apology words” to get the next part of the interaction he wants. He is unable to repair or understand the damage that has happened. Nobody’s actions make sense, because Marty won’t understand anyone else’s actions. Only Marty’s actions make sense. Fe-Si awaken: When he finally sees his son, it’s an undeniable, tangible proof of him. No matter how fast he moves, this HAPPENED, this is HIS RESPONSIBILITY. He will CONTINUE.  Ps: original versions of the movie focused on Marty slowly aging, even being shown as a grandfather, accepting his permanence and life 🏓
