top comment on fandom page so i'm posting it here as well for people to read. ruan mei is an INFJ. why aux fe: her view of love is quite the debate subject. she says she does not understand love clearly many times, both with her words and the note she added to the mechanical lifeform emotion research paper. yet i think emotions are a big part of her character. when she was a little child, she used to compare the "love" of people around her and rank them accordingly. she has a very different understanding of love, yet deep down she cannot help but care for her creations. yes, she ignores them and leaves them behind but that's because of her trauma. in her character story it says that after her parents' death, which shook her to the core yet she remained unresponsive on the outside, she started thinking that people can and will let her down, and she can and will let people down - thus the only thing she can trust is science. she tries to suppress her emotions and she is very successful in doing that, seeming aloof and stoic outside. but when you talk to her creations, they say "they must've been created with love, and because of that they feel so much love towards their creator" idk about you but i don't think these words are just words. i think it's a quite serious trait of her character, she suppresses her emotions so much to the point she thinks she no longer feels them, yet when she creates life, that love hidden beneath her shell sprouts and embraces the creation. i could say nevermind if it was only a few of the bunch, but almost all her creations feel the same way. she's curious about them too, hence why she asks us several times how they're doing. though her being scared of her emotions had built a wall hard for her to reach, so she can neither bring herself to visit them nor say that she cares for them. also, the way she manipulates and reads the other person easily can refer to fe as well. she's extremely manipulative when she wants to be, and she's very perceptive of other people. this is not because of her genius, because we can compare her to herta, who is a genius as well, and see the difference. inf fe vs aux fe is clear imo. why inf se: ruan mei, although being detached from the material life, uses her se to relieve herself from all the trouble she has going on. and honestly, her se is quite healthy compared to her other functions. she enjoys the taste of desserts, the way the aroma lingers on her tongue, she likes listening to theatre and opera, she likes playing ruan. i think these are all ways for her to get out tension from her body, hence all of them being physical activities. plus she's shown to be aware of her surroundings. i also think her wanting things to be different than her expectations a form of inf se relief. why not si: one may argue that her relationship with desserts from a young age may be a sign of si, but i really don't think that's the case, as explained above. she has no care about her bodily needs or wants, it says in her character story that she forgets to eat and sleep for days, only dozing off when she's exhausted to the point of sims 4 dark red sleep bar. her eating habits were also very messed up because of how much she focuses on her experiments. why ni dom: ruan mei's whole character is about the deeper meaning of life. the essence of life. not even meaning it on a scientific level, just the answer to life. her goals are seemingly very far-fetched (for example, becoming an aeon) and i think that's a classical ni dom talking. she always has a prediction of how things will occur, what results will be shown during the experiment, etc. her experiment papers show that almost all her experiments go the way she expected them to go. (ni-ti) why not tert fi: ruan mei has no fi. none. she doesn't even care about her actions being right or wrong, she does NOT care about righteousness, only her goals and research. (ni-ti) why ti tert: ruan mei, i think, has a very proficient use of ti, hence why some people think she's an INTP. but looking closely at her character, ni weighs heavier than ti. a ti dom in her place would most likely want to get the scientific and reasonable answer of life, but her, being a ni dom, is more about the meaning behind it. why not te aux: some people had said that her talking about science and life is her talking about external rules etc. i do not agree. while she says stuff like "without accelerating or postponing the arrival of death, life will always wither" i don't think that's te talking since science is made up of rules. she's a scientist, of course she's gonna talk about them. what's even more is that when you read her character story, it states that her way of experimenting is simply disregarding the already existent rules and making up her own way. that's a basic example of ti. anyway i love this woman
