The scientific method is pure Te - practical, indisputable, good solid, working practices. It's purpose is definite progress and it's designed to dismiss rhetoric and argumentation, which can go in circles (because people make decisions based on feelings, have attachment, and emotion). Ti is the theoretical and arguing side of science and can dismiss evidence based on logical reasons (manufactured studies, scientists and their work bought and paid for with grant money, etc.). The mathematical theories and formulas were designed with, and accepted by intuition and logic.
