many commenters are acknowledging lake’s desire to have control over her own life as a way of *affirming her identity* whilst wrongfully voting E8. her journey through the train is a desperate attempt to prove to others that she is “real” — or, in other words, proving to others that the self she perceives is who she truly is (“look at me! i am a person! i deserve a number!”). this struggle, combined with the tough persona she puts on, SCREAMS E4 and image in general. naranjo on sp4: “So afraid of dependency, of being hurt, they become counterdependent, autonomous. Self-demanding (‘No matter what it may cost...’). Instead of demanding from the outside world, they demand from themselves.” lake: “fine, give me some trials, whatever! take my memories, tape me, i don’t care. let’s do it!” the primary struggle of sp8 is their need to survive. one way to differentiate an sp8 from an sp4 is that the 4 will be more open to enduring painful experiences because they *identify* with endurance. they are oftentimes associated with masochism, a trait that lake shows as she refuses to do what others expect her to do even if it risks her safety. her character is defined by individualism and identity — two traits heavily associated with E4. ask yourself: does lake want agency for survival and protection (8) or for the purpose of validating her existence (4)? also, why VFEL?
전기
Lake is the 13-year-old main protagonist of Infinity Train Book Two, and is the mirror version of Tulip. She is a former denizen of the Infinity Train. She is referred to as a "sliver" or cracked reflection by the Mirror Police. Being a cracked reflection, she has developed her own personality that does not reflect the existence of Tulip. As a reflection, she needs to always be connected to a reflective surface, which Tulip is able to solve by using the metallic side of her Swiss army knife. This allows Lake to stay in the "prime world" without trapping Tulip in the mirror world. In Book 2, Lake uses her reflective body to reflect Jesse's number and leaves the Infinity Train with him.
