Alice and Bob are in love. However, thanks to a curse, Curse Escape Clause, Applied Phlebotinum, Clingy Costume, Man of Steel, Woman of Kleenex, or some other reason, they can't consummate their love. Often only the sex act between the cursed character and the one they love is forbidden—they could probably boink anyone else if they wanted—though it's not uncommon for the cursed character to be forbidden from having sex with anyone without dire consequences.
