his first function is without no doubt Fe. he uses it very cleary and is also good at picking up of other people's emotions. I had my doubts about him being an ESFJ! his understanding or reading between the lines might just have been Fe or what he did learn by time (si). but his NI is pretty there from the beginning: - when he meets with the three sister and has to live with them, he says that they should be a family. but his reasoning is not because this reminds of him of his past with his mom, or that he feels that this is a new chance or that he can do it right this time. his reasoning is pretty simple, he thinks that they can be a family and doesn't treat the three differently just because they're "mikadono sisters". he doesn't treat this event as an accident and wants to give it a meaning. - he cares about his mom a lot but he still doesn't cry to the movies she played in. his mind was caught up in connecting the movie to his real life. - he read between the line and surface of miwako's friend/rival. - when he heard miwako said "shut up, it's different from you two" to her sisters, he wasn't satisfied with that and thought she probably meant something else (which she did).
