* = not that important Watching the movie now and while I see where the ISFP votes are coming from. I think he’s an INFJ. Especially since his morality is rooted in a pursuit for justice. Fi doms judge of morals would be rooted in their personal beliefs of right and wrong, his are built on philosophy. He constantly questions aspects of morals, religion, and systems rather than spending the movie strengthening his own, not unless these aspects are tied to his service to the bigger community. Ni- I think dominant Ni makes sense in his attention to detail, his vision, and his philosophy for what the church should look like. His attention to detail is similar to Benoit another Ni Dom, he notices small details in body language and all his monologues in the first half centered on his reading of others. Fe- Definitely Fe. All of his solutions and motivations deal with fostering community. He finds satisfaction in healing the feelings of others and was drawn to the church because of what the external feeling of God did for him. An Fi dom would look to themselves to enforce or resolve their feelings (*Similar to Simone’s ending). Furthermore he disliked Monsignor’s testimony because it showed a personal bias and strayed from religions purpose as a bridge to others. And his Fe further fuels his ability to read people psychologically. *His Ni-Fe usage through the case reminded me of Dale Cooper another INFJ Ti- His speech to Benoit about his role in Benoits investigative system showed a preference for internal logic versus Benoit’s Te. He doesn’t see the value in trusting his system, instead he refers to it as a game and only recognizes what he sees as useful. This suggests a preference for an internal framework. Se- Inferior Se makes sense as it’s the function he has the least control over. It usually comes out in times of stress and it’s the aspect he’s most ashamed of, which I think contributes to his Fi-critic which is why hes mistyped as an ISFP His Fi critic is strong and I think that’s what everyone’s confusing with Fi dom. He’s not concerned with building his identity or morality as much as he was trying to atone for his guilt. Though this and his inferior Se are a crucial foil for his character arc throughout the movie, functionally he doesn’t exhibit much control over either of them hence why I don’t see them as too important.
