Since we're stuck between ESTP and ENTP I won't get into Ti-Fe arguments since we seem to agree on that. His *natural instinct* to go into conceptual thinking and use metaphors when we meet him first is impossible not to pick up on, I don't know how the Se argument works over Ne. ''He likes thrill and action'' as dominant Se argument could work if any other type wasn't also capable of enjoying thrill and action. If you want to argue Se dom I think building a good argument for Ni inf could work, I'd love to read what can be put forward. ---- -''What is the Lament? Disaster? Curse? Some type of punishment? Ha! People only see the surface...'', ''the black lamb, the herd and the shepherd''... Clearly this guy isn't satisfied with seeing things as ''reality'' puts it forward and is dissatisfied by others seeing/judging it that way. He wants to conceptualize it. He tells Rover that he could just tell them the village story directly but he thinks that ''that's too boring.'' Hold onto this line cause I'll bring it forward again in a bit. Even as he guides the Rover through the village story, he is thinking of concepts surrounding the story rather than observed reality. And no, ''take a look around!'' isn't ''boom, you gotta be an Se dom'', anyone can physically take in their environment, and he will immediately abandon the conclusions drawn strictly from the physical environment by saying ''Do you truly believe the real world can be that simple?'' anyway and will give Rover a few tips: ''An innocent girl, a revered leader, and a flock of simple villagers. False devotion, fleeting kindness, collective deceit, senseless killing, and... The one vulnerable soul, pushed onto a path of destruction by the masses.'' The ''tips'' he gives are not observed facts or any ''solid/physical'' clue that you can use to get to the truth - they're concepts. He isn't telling the story based on ''what happened'', he's telling it based on ''elements and ideas surrounding the plot''. He gives these concepts to Rover and encourages them to give the story their own spin and tells them he's eager to learn their version. He wants to see the different perspective which may come up. This is why he found it too boring to tell them the story directly - how else would he be able to learn about how Rover sees it? How else could he explore a new idea, a new perspective? ''Is that why you became a shepherd yourself?'' ''Fun answer but no, not even close.'' 'Fun answer.' A small little thing, but it's a clue on how much he enjoys these different ideas. When he denies being ''a shepherd'' and labels himself and them as a ''black lamb'', Rover goes along with his metaphorical thinking and hits him with ''He who fights too long with dragons becomes a dragon himself,'' which is an analogy on how he'll become what he wants to defeat. Scar likes this take, probably because it's a different, challenging idea AND because Rover is playing into his metaphorical thinking, adapting to his style of communication. He's enjoying the discussion even when Rover is implying that he's in the wrong with their statement. -Literally so many of his lines, you catch SO MANY metaphors he naturally uses instead of telling stuff as they are when you start looking for them, I highly suggest taking a trip through clips of him (admire him later though we're trying to type this freak rn) --- ''The Lament brings (..) Reverbarations. Reverbarations that will be reflected, overlapped and interwoven during the Lament. They will be our salvation, the only path to a new lifeform an a new civilization.'' His inf Si sees an existing pattern, a ''way things have been'' and is determined to reject it, he is strong in his desire to abandon it for a brand new civilization, and this rejection of the old order feeds into his Ne for him to search for ideas, focusing on one main topic as he generates more in his ideals. His Ne is... destructive in the way it brings forward possible ideas to achieve this. Maybe this is a reach, but his rejection of Rover's environment as he calls the people around them ''disturbances, little helpers'', and belittles their presence, and especially when he says ''I don't plan to make you hate me just yet, [Yangyang] is safe now,'' implying that he'd most likely hurt her if Rover wouldn't hate him for it makes me think he has no desire to adapt to Rover's already existing environment and he rejects it completely instead of playing around with that structure. Whether this is because he likes Rover better, or if it's just some strategy on his part, or he genuinely dislikes Rover's formed ''support system'' for lack of a better term is unclear, but it's my theory that it's the first and third options combined.
