Bradley James is an ESFJ so/sx 2w3 279. Hear me out. Fe-Si argument: Have you seen this dude? He reeks of Fe dom charisma: charming, sociable, and friendly. Compared to, let's say, a Ne or a Se dom, the vibes are completely different. A Ne dom would have this sort of frantic, childish energy that comes off as enthusiastic and endearing. A Se dom would have a solid, grounded presence that tells they're fully in tune with the moment and their surroundings. He tries to be acceptable, to be palatable to the general public, and understands proper behavior. Followed up with Si, that shows in his proper conduct and old-fashioned chivalry. No, he doesn't use Se just because he plays football. Anyone can play football. My guess is he does it for the sense of camaraderie with his mates and it's a good place for connection. I'm also assuming it's a British thing, which further supports my argument of Si use. Ne tert evidence are his jokes and his childish playfulness. Ti inf in the way he speaks up about his opinions in the most diplomatic way possible, with charm and humor, rather than the detached, analytical, direct communication style of Ti doms. so2w3 and 279 argument: I'm first gonna start off with why he's not a 3w2 instead. Here's a scenario: let's say someone just finished their 5 year contract as a lead actor in a prominent show in their country and in the global scope. What's their next step? A 3w2 would strategically leverage this opportunity of rising stardom to get better roles in bigger shows/movies. Bradley didn't. Why is he a 2w3 then? He's a heart-triad first, the type of guy to care a lot about his looks, image, and his physical attractiveness. Reason for social-dom? He's more intellectual than the usual 2, more composed, confident, influential. Has connections with other influential people despite not appearing in mainstream media often. Also, he tends to go for playboy-esque characters in fiction. 7 fix second cause he's an optimistic, carefree, light-hearted kinda guy, who's also creative and clever (see: opinions on Arthur's lack of character growth and just about any Merlin interview where he speaks up about his opinions). 9 cuz he doesn't have the 8's solidness nor the 1's rigidness. Correlation between a Fe dom actor and a Se dom character: Arthur Pendragon's a clear ESTP 3w2. There's no doubt about it. BUT, there's just something that differentiates a Se user actor playing a Se dom character vs any other type. Se users have this natural suave, present, fluid quality to their movements, in the way they carry themselves, and how they act. It translates into the character they're playing. No one can play a Se user character better than an actual Se user. Anyway, Bradley didn’t have that when he played as Arthur. Not to say he was bad at acting as Arthur; he wasn't, he was excellent. But you can't really put a golden retriever in a wolf costume and expect it to act perfectly like one. It can mimic the behavior of a wolf, but can only be a shadow of it. I love it, personally. I think how Bradley acts as Arthur adds an endearing aspect to his character; softens his edges, humanizes him more, and makes the emotional scenes where Arthur must be vulnerable much more powerful. gg Reference: vibes his interviews, opinions, etc personal analysis of internet posts https://wiki.personality-database.com/books/enneagram/page/279-the-peacemaker-archetype https://wiki.personality-database.com/books/enneagram/page/social-2-in-detail
