NJZ (Korean: 엔제이지; Japanese: エンジェイジ), formerly NewJeans (뉴진스), is a five-member girl group which debuted on July 22, 2022, with the lead single "Attention", prior to the release of their debut EP New Jeans on August 1, 2022. A wordplay of “new genes”, which implicate that the group will be going in a new generation of pop music and can also assumed to be an abbreviation of their former name. The group is composed of five members: Minji, Hanni, Danielle, Haerin, and Hyein. They are known for their 'girl next door' image and iconic musical stylings reminiscent of the 1990s and 2000s.
