E8 is undeniably tied to Se. But being Se-dominant doesn’t automatically make someone an E8 - just like being Te-dominant doesn’t mean you're an E1 or E3. If you imagine cognitive functions as being neatly arranged in equal proportions, you can build clean charts and alchemical correlation tables. But in real life, these functions are not equal - they’re wildly disproportionate. One ENTJ might have Se developed to such a degree that it’s impossible to mistype him as a E1, even with serious psychological depth work. He’ll clearly test and act as an 8w7. His Se might even be more alive, more reactive, than in some Se-doms. That’s the reality - especially in men. Deep psychological motivation and core fears are laid down long before our mental architecture takes form - and often, they’re shaped by something as fundamental as whether your mother was an E8.
