His film Chung King Express revolves around people suffering from Fi-Si loops. (Mid-movie spoilers) Story 1: Male lead 1 buys a tin of pineapples every day for the entire month because he can't get over his ex who likes pineapples (Fi-Si). He then randomly falls for the first woman who walks into the bar (Ne) - female lead 1 and they have a short bonding because they are both lonely in similar ways. They projected their own feelings on to each other (Fi). Story 2: Male lead 2 broke up with his gf as well and began talking to his towel, plush toys, soap, his ex gf's air hostess suit etc. He projects his own emotions on to the objects (Fi and Ne-Si axis). Meanwhile female lead 2 has a crush on him. She secretly goes to his house every day (Fi) and switches up his furniture (Ne) but he doesn't notice the changes at all because he is still stuck in the past (Si + lack of Se). The movie talks about them trying to come out from their emotional bubble by turning to new possibilities. It's like being in a Fi-Si loop with Ne being the path to freedom. I know movies don't necessarily reflect the director's personality, but the level of accuracy in portraying such an abstract idea of Fi-Si makes it hard not to believe that he himself is someone of that nature.
