Some people hate him, some people love him. I just see him as a bully who was a leader to his group of friends and cared for them dearly. He was very focused with maintaining the harmony of the Marauders and sought approval from others (Fe). Very Se-based as he lived in the moment, had fun and not really thinking of the consequences of his actions (inferior Ni). As he grew older, he matured and developed more of his Fe. That made him more considerate of other people and more aware of the impact some of his actions might have had on others. People may hate James, but personally I think he's a much better person than Sirius who was dangerously reckless, callous and selfish. But in all due honesty, does anyone else find it weird that Ginny has the same MBTI as James? It's a bit like the oedipus complex, only that James plays the role of the parent of the opposite gender. Weird.
