alright, i have another offer: what if cinder is ISFP? i feel like her backstory really points towards this. there’s definitely fi in there no matter what her type is, but it could potentially be her dominant function. she’s really driven by her own twisted values that she learned in childhood, values of mistrust and self-preservation. all that matters to her is power, which really reflects on an unhealthy fi dom’s motivation. i also think her se is too strong to be inferior since she keeps making decisions out of impulsivity (like trying to take down amity arena against salem’s wishes). her power-hungry nature also lends itself to se, since power stimulates her, as does combat. she constantly seeks out this stimulation by throwing herself into fights out of personal interest. i don’t see ni as dominant in any way— where IS the ni? if it’s tertiary, she barely ever uses it. it’s a stretch, but maybe she used it while recruiting emerald and mercury, at least to note their strengths and plan for how they would be useful to her. as for inferior te, she falls into te grip quite a few times in the series. it might be why some people are seeing extj. her inf te makes her rebellious against salem (despite its consequences) and explains her restlessness when she is under the authority of others, since she has an underlying interest in being in control. although she adores power, cinder typically prefers physical power rather than power over others— that’s why i think her te is inferior and her se is auxiliary.

An ambitious and enigmatic woman with power over fire, Cinder Fall is the leader of an equally mysterious group closely associated with crime lord Roman Torchwick. She and her teammates, Mercury Black and Emerald Sustrai, infiltrate Beacon Academy in Volume 2, posing as transfer students from Mistral's Haven Academy while subtly preparing the terrain for a war between the kingdoms, the results of which are coming to fruition by Volume 3. Cinder typically fights with a pair of swords called Midnight that combine into a compound bow created with dust infused clothing. After the injuries she sustained from Ruby Rose at the climax of Volume 3, she has since abandoned using Midnight in favor of using a variety of blades constructed from glass containing fire at their cores. Her Semblance is Scorching Caress, which allows her to superheat and manipulate the shape of objects, such as turning sand into glass. #CompleteMonster
