Undoubtedly SP2 and one of the best representations of the subtype in all media. —— “But then, she met the ‘guitar.‘ That’s how the consciousness ‘Mutsumi-chan’ was born. ” Mortis, the sociable one. The born actress. The one that wants to be seen, to be loved. The childlike and genuine girl. The one that takes advantage of Mutsumi’s situation after CRYCHIC separates, knowing that she can finally be seen again. Hiding all of her selfish desires under a facade even she believed to be out of her goodwill. However, the moment she is not needed anymore, the moment where her objective ideals about people and relationships, her ideas of Ave Mujica and CRYCHIC are trampled, she crashes out. Because Mortis is always right — a person like Me, who is never willing to hurt Mutsumi, and only wishes to protect her from pain — after all the good I’ve done for you, this is how you pay me back?! Mortis is unstable. She is manipulative, but in the same way a child would. She does not truthfully understand other people; she only really knows what to say in order to be liked. Mutsumi, who clings to the past, to the initial ideal Sakiko had proposed to her, is in fact clinging to a reality in which Mortis is not present at all. But if Mortis isn’t present, if Mutsumi-chan is happy and at peace, then Mortis won’t be needed. Mortis can’t be seen anymore. So Mortis clings to Ave Mujica; because she can be something real there. Mortis does care about Mutsumi, but she does so in this twisted way in a fight for survival. Both of them want to live, and both of them want to exist; however, they cannot coexist because their ideals clash. She presents in a childlike manner, both through the way she talks and the way she moves her body — often replicating the actions of others as a way of giving her a “form” (a self outside Mutsumi.) She has no idea of how to live in the real world as she has been repressed in Mutsumi’s consciousness for a while now, therefore, she is clumsy in social interactions, even if she is extremely expressive and friendly. Her handwriting is clunky, round, big. Same as a child’s. During EP6, Mortis was told she was liked for the first time. She wasn’t told that Mutsumi was liked, but her. Something she had never heard before. Of course, because of this, Mortis also grew attached to Raana, as everyone that sees her for her own person and not a ‘split personality’ is valuable (unlike Sakiko, who bears the burden of creating Mortis and blames herself for it, even though she has existed for a long time.) While people usually freak out learning she's not mutsumi, Raana is unfazed. Raana acts "normal" around her just like she treats everyone else. In comparison to Mutsumi, she sounds much more like your average young-teens girl. she speaks in full sentences, using more end particles like の in a feminine way. she also uses words/structures like だって, -ちゃう, and もん that offer a more youthful air, and she drops particles very often. Additionally, when speaking to Mutsumi in her doll form, mortis uses very gentle, coaxing language. she uses a lot of よね and ね's to soften her tone. As herself, Mortis also defaults to more childish language as well. for example, she uses the words お話 and お人形, adding the honorific お in front of the words 話 and 人形, which sounds a bit childish. She becomes controlling as a way of protecting herself under the guise of helping Mutsumi (one that she believes is for the best of both of them). In short: the SP2 ever
Biografia
AVE MUJICA SPOILERS. In the third episode of the currently-running animation: "Ave Mujica," Mortis officially appears. She is an alter (as in underneath the Pluralism Umbrella, referred to separately on an official account and in the cast list) of the character Mutsumi Wakaba, possibly due to being shown off by her parents and not treated as her own, which caused her trauma.
