I see someone typed him an ISFP. And really, they aren't wrong! Edmond acts a lot like a friendly, but easily fooled ISFP at the beginning of the book, when he's a young man. He's good-natured, easy-going, romantic and is a people person, but not as much as to suggest him being actually extroverted. Many people's theory(which I wholeheartedly support) is that he started out as an ISFP, but long years in prison and harsh reality eventually turned him into a hardcore INTJ. INTJs and ISFPs share the same functions, just placed in different orders, so it's actually close to brilliant. Before someone states that Dantès is too extroverted in his role as the count to be an INTJ, I'd like to point out the care he takes to not reveal his emotions, the confidence he has in his own knowledge and skills, him being a superb planner, as well as a skilled manipulator and how he actually values his alone time a lot. As an INTJ with two INTJ friends, I can tell you we can play the social butterfly's role pretty damn well if we can get anything good out of it and don't do it every day. That's exactly what the count seems to do! So, I vote ISFP for Edmond Dantès and INTJ for the Count of Monte Cristo.
