looking at the descriptions for enneagram 4 and 8 relationship and jane and rochester’s relationship, i think rochester is an 8 (specifically wing 7). for example, from the enneagram institute, “[The 4 and 8] are attracted to each other's storminess, the other's vulnerability, and the other's "hidden" qualities: neither is what they seem to be on the surface.” “Eights tend to depend on the Four's sensitivity and mysterious sense of challenge … On the other hand, Fours see strength, charisma, and solidity in Eights. Both feel that the other can meet their intensity—that the other will not be boring or non-responsive to them.“ but overall i just see more 8w7 in rochester, so if anyone has any good counter arguments for 3w4 i’d be happy to hear them!
