Daisy is shown to hide multiple carcasses of chickens underneath her bed, from the outside this looks like an unusual display of mental illness — which it is — but it’s also an example of how she creates comfort from stimuli. Unlike Se, she forms a subjective impression due to the fact that those chickens aren’t simply food, it’s a gift from her father that provokes a perception of sentimental value towards the object, the object causes her to become defensive and horrified (labelled as “overreaction” in Jung's definition) at it being revealed to others due to her “internal psychological process” which causes her “total alienation from reality” — this process is present throughout the film in her distortion of reality, it causes her to retreat from others and fabricate a narrative true to what she wants to believe rather than what the objective reality of her situation is. (Haven't watched this movie in roughly a year, impeding further evaluation until after I rewatch.)
