He's text book "banality of evil" by Arendt. That's why classifying him as ISTJ fits the purpose of the movie, not ESTJ or ENTJ. -He's always working. Prudently, standardly working. -He's quiet, introverted. He doesn't have strong opinions for anything. His housework and career design was all based on the directions given by his wife. -In a party, instead of talking and mingling with other people, who are his resources, he only wonders around and think about gassing them (which is his work, gassing people). That's ISTJ, always thinking about only his work, and not using resources to climb up for himself. An ESTJ, like his wife, would send flowers to his upper leaders, try to pretend to be nice to ppl to get more chances, and loose his temper when things do go his way, etc. He does none of that.
