Not ISTJ, but traumatized ESTP who is trying to fit with an ISTJ-like job. Before the massacre, she's shown to be very mischievous and adventurous, and she remains like that even later in the book - it's often noted that she acts very bold, "silly", spontaneous, and socially extraverted most times except when she needs to perform some service as a bodyguard and then she enters a "serious mode". And she only became Fathom's bodyguard not because she enjoys a slow-paced, "traditional" job but because it was her reward of sorts for supposedly killing Albatross and because it allowed her to break Pearl's edict and be with Fathom. She acts more suspicious from part 2 onward and tries to kill Darkstalker just because of his animus powers/seemingly that "tradition" said he is dangerous, and that might fit an ISTJ stereotype, but remember that she is reacting/flashing back to the extremely traumatic event of the Royal SeaWing massacre (while at a party that is very similar to it), and she isn't knee-jerk suspicious and traditionalist in any other case. Her actual personality seems to be first and foremost SE practicality and excitement in pursuing new sensory possibilities, then the Ti rationality and mastering of her job/task that she shifts into in her "serious mode", and also the Fe, comforting Fathom and reassuring him that his soul isn't in danger, with the Fi (what if I lose my soul' angst being foreign to her, and devoting herself to Fathom's happiness even if it means sacrificing a lot else in her liife.
