Biografia
Johan Vilhelm Snellman (1806-1881) is considered the national philosopher of Finland. He was a famous literature critic, created the definition of what he called national literature, and took part in Finland's language debate of the 19th century. Snellman was also a member of the senate, and as such helped the Finnish language gain officiality in Finland. He was a huge factor in the creation of a Finnish national identity as well as a philosopher in the tradition of Georg Wilhelm Friedrich Hegel.
