these comments are rancid... identifying with nihilism isn't inherently an attempt at edginess, it's, in my opinion, what happens when you try to intellectualize depression and feelings of worthlessness. i deal with existential ocd and i obsess over meaning and purpose a lot. i'm a specific example, obviously, but i've often thought my ocd, my philosophical beliefs, my ti dom cognitive orientation, and my being a 5 all really go hand in hand + almost perpetuate each other. i feel like 5s + ti-doms can very easily get caught up in the inner workings of the universe & what it all means, particularly 5w4s and INTPs, and it can be very debilitating. i think when we put our minds to tangible things like science or mechanical work, we're a lot better off. unfortunately some of us simply aren't wired that way.
