Biografia
Judith, the heroine of the Book of Judith. She is the daughter of Merari, a Simeonite, and widow of a certain Manasses. After the Assyrians have cut off the Bethulia's water supply, Judith devises an ingenious strategy for how to defeat the Assyrian army led by Nebuchadnezzar's war general, Holofernes. She and her maiden leave Bethulia and head into a valley near where Holofernes' camp is. The men keeping watch capture them, and she claims she has a direct connection with Yahweh and wants to defect and help them defeat the Israelites. She uses her charm to become an intimate friend of Holofernes and seduces him (without full sex) and when he is intoxicated, she finally beheads him allowing Israel to counter-attack the Assyrians (with suddenly no leadership) and defeat them soundly.
