Wow, she gets a lot of unwarranted hate. As someone who loves her videos and finds her really helpful to a lot of young women this is so discouraging to see so many people bash on her. Caitlin to me seems like a fairly healthy ESFJ. She has well developed Ne that I think oftentimes gets overlooked in ESFJs. People think that ESFJs cannot be creative but she is and is able to utilize that into her videos to advise other women to become their best selves through gaining self-confidence and undergoing their personal glow up in whichever flatters them. She is not bent on selling a single type of beauty and has discussed how people misinterpret her videos and does not understand why people hate watch her content. She does have a desire for a traditional stay at home mom life but that does not mean she is a Si user because of that. She is a Si user because she has such a detail oriented approach to her videos and her routine and stability in her life. She gives practical advice to her viewers and is self aware to stay grounded in reality. She also brings a comfort and coziness to her video by reminding viewers of the simple joys in life like baking or gardening, she is a very hands on individual. She also has made blog posts about grief and she is a sentimental person. She discusses letting go of toxic family drama and the healing process that can come with that. She has even said that she has gotten rid of certain belongings because they are forever associated with that person or that dark time in her life and to declutter her space and heart. This seems Si to me because it’s associating a memory with something intangible and giving it special meaning. Si has nothing to do with one being traditional because intuitives can be traditional too and Si users can be progressive. The difference is how they have gathered their information and how have they been informed. For example, an Si user tends to rely on past experiences to predict the future and looks at real life examples to see what works. This means that either way an Si user can be influenced by their upbringing/surroundings. She also clearly leads with Fe because of her own admission with struggling with insecurities rooted in how people perceive her. She has said that she used to get judged by others for her womanly body and that people can be so quick to make assumptions about her solely based on her conventional looks which there’s nothing wrong with. She is not saying that everyone should look like her, she has repeatedly said that is not the case and that everyone has their own unique beauty. She will include different examples of beauty in her videos. Lastly, she shows Ti because in some of her longer videos she breaks down but by bit the logic or flawed logic of certain ideas and beliefs. For example, she made a reaction video to the homemaking trend rising in popularity. She was concerned as one of the early influencers of homemaking about the misinformation that was being promoted and she provided an example and argument for every single one. She said that she was concerned that it could send the wrong message to young girls that they do not need college or to ever worry because their husbands will take care of them. But she has made videos with a diagram about that too since there are relationships and husbands out there who only want a “wife with benefits” as she calls it. She even refers to a divorce lawyer she has listened to. She does her research thoroughly and seeks nuance in her reasoning which many influencers and people in general tend to not do. I just wanted to leave a positive comment on her page because she is such a warm and loving influencer and I’m saddened to see the vitriol towards her. And also please do not use MBTI to vilify someone based on stereotypes. Not all ESFJs are bad or mean or judgmental and neither is Mrs. Midwest.
