An unreliable narrator. To me, she might not be a villainess (as many analyses suggest), but she still had her own feelings and motives. She displayed manipulative behavior, lied frequently, and used her position as a messenger to interfere in other characters’ affairs. Of course, in her own narration, these actions were downplayed. Ultimately, she still manages to hold her ground at Thrushcross Grange. Truly one of the most complex and fascinating ISFJs in fiction, even though the story was written over 200 years ago.
Biografia
She presents herself as one of the few level-headed people in a cast of broken, vicious, and deranged characters. Upon closer inspection, she herself willingly does many of the things that she abhors in other people—such as lying to Cathy, punishing her cruelly, and keeping her captive and ignorant.
