[1] Upon watching Nana, I was surprised to find out that people can argue anything but SP2 EFLV for Nana Hachi, as every single action of hers was proving this to be the case. Collab with my ISHOWSPEED @Adri who’s gonna argue EFLV! Go check it out:D Outline: – Core 2 Hachi – SP > SX – Debunking of 3 core → 𝐒𝐏𝟐 𝐇𝐀𝐂𝐇𝐈 When we are first introduced to Hachi, we see a pretty cutesy and clumsy girl who is dependent on the people around her, waiting for them to guide her. A girl that is consumed with emotions, love for life and for others around her, and above all, a girl that is unable to function at all on her own accord. A tendency to be the center of the lives of those around her consumes her, she will do anything to evade her own loneliness. Even if it meant traveling all the way to Tokyo so she could finally gain her own spine and be ‘independent’ (which she fails miserably at, due to still depending on her boyfriend and friends at the time) – One could start wondering, how was such a ‘childish’ character able to get away with all of this? Simple, the charm of SP2s is the answer. [SP2 is the most dependent out of the Two core subtypes, although he shows a self-sufficient and independent façade. He distances himself from his family with the idea that distance will diminish his dependence, but it does not, because he compulsively establishes dependent relationships to ensure his protection and survival. He is chameleonic and his great intuitive capacity allows him to captivate others.] [This type of Two is presented as a charming boy, a charming girl, who offers unconditional love, without limits, with the intention of gaining the acceptance and place of privilege (passion of the subtype) that he longs for.] Twos, and in this context; SP2s, use childish antics in order to gain favors and love from others. ‘I am most important and I am who matters the most’’ is the SP2’s motto. As he thinks he is always entitled to others’ help like a helpless puppy (sounds familiar?) He wants to be pampered and taken care of but yet is so flimsy and cope-y about asking for help at the same time. When we begin dissecting Hachi’s relationship with the other characters, we can begin with her hyper-dependency on Junko. Always running to her when in trouble, always needing advice, always needing someone to get her back on her two feet, Junko was a catalyst that led Hachi to recognize a lot about her pride and faults, which she was so detached from yet aware of but hides. Junko basically did not handle a lot of her bs, was someone who gave her straight advice to stop being self-centered and to get off her high horse. With all this being said, it is apparent that her character flaw is her excessive pride. Pride being the passion of 2s, we are met with a character that boasts in its own greatness, one that seeks to be the center of attention – “playing the part of a princess’’ Moving on, we have her relationship with Nana Osaki, which is way more complex than the one before. Aforementioned, almost all Hachi’s actions towards Nana were infantile, dependent, and infused with idealization towards her strong personality (the thing she looked for in a significant other) Nana often described Hachi as a selfish and self-centered woman, which always sent Hachi into a spiral, because what else would an SP2 hate more than gaining awareness to their flaws especially from the person they admire? SP2s are try-hards at concealing their own flaws, which is why they present themselves and overcompensate by doing things for others, loving the other and being there for them so the other can see them as the image they aspire and seek to be, and nothing other than that. Which is what causes their temper-tantrums when they’re seen for what they are really. [This last aspect, the great difficulty of accepting criticism, is very present in this character. He simply cannot tolerate it, and even less self-criticism, which threatens his entire idealized image of himself and his relationships. He feels so fragile with respect to who he thinks he is and with respect to what others mean to him that his defects are a threat to the stability of his relationship with himself and with the other.] Another thing SP2s fear is losing their privileged position, as they wish to be the number one favorite for the other, mixed with their fear of abandonment. Rings a bell? Yes, the appearance of Misato in Osaki’s life. Everything was fine with her at first hand-sight until Hachi’s insecurities and feelings started drowning her – she started drawing comparisons to Misato (who seemed to be at an advantage here) which threw off Hachi’s balance. She feared Misato taking her place, she despised that Misato was at an advantage to her, which caused her to aggressively lash at the girl due to her selfish desires and emotions getting in the way.
