"Que tipo de personalidade é Floch Forster? Floch Forster é um tipo de personalidade ENTJ em mbti, 6w7 - so/sx - 683 em enneagram, SLOEN em Big 5, LSI em sociônicos."
SPOILERS!! Alright, I came in here thinking he was an ESTJ as well, but seeing the ENTJ votes made me think and Ni/Se might make more sense. I also wasn't Floch's biggest fan, but holy hell did the new season offer a new, insightful perspective into this man's brillance and complexity, a truly greatly written charater. Ever since we were first exposed to Floch, he was always talking about being a coward, being passive, not taking enough action etc etc (probably ennea 6 with a hint of inferior Fi), but the first time we get a true look inside his head is post suicide charge when that man gets almost depressed. He starts rambling about the fear of living a meaningless life, and the need for him to have a purpose, to leave his mark on this earth. I believe the first instance of Ni we get from him is when he realizes that the only thing that is essential to the survival of the people of the island is for a "devil" to exist (which is why he was so against reviving Armin over Erwin). His depiction pre suicide charge showed him as a pretty annoying self centered guy who didn't want to dedicate too much of himself to the cause (ex: when he criticized our main group for being too serious/gloomy), but that's also aware of his own hypocrisy and cowardice. He was scared (who wouldn't in that setting), and him choosing to join the scouts to make himself more useful speaks to his Te dominance. He also grew attached to Erwin as a leader, his character, his methods, he admired everything about him even if he was still openly criticizing his methods. Erwin played a pivotal role in his character development: not only did he trigger the whole "devil" conclusion, but his death also provided Floch with the Ni vision necessary to get him to take action (Se) based on the previous conclusion. He knew that someone had to assume the role of devil to grant paradis freedom, regardless if it made people hate and despise him, it had to be done, there had to be a fall guy (Te>Fe, also EJ self sacrificing temperament). I believe him being ennea 6 is probably why people think he must be an Si user, because he does seem reluctant and hesitant at first, but when you compare him to Jean for example, another Te dom 6, you can easily see the difference between Si/Ne and Ni/Se, and that Floch has Se>Ne. Jean with Te-Ne makes him more reluctant to take action as he prefers to explore and respect possibilities, and has no issues leaving things open ended to grant different results, he's much more "in his head" and apt to think things thouroughly through than Floch. Floch is more Te-Se, as he doesn't really stop to consider the possibilities and just takes action when it's needed (more impulsive). He's more grounded in that way where he prefers to get stuff done in the real world rather than spend time pondering about the different outcomes one of his actions might set off, like Jean does (Ni>Ne). They seemed to be set up to be similar yet complete opposites, no one can deny that his introduction reminded all of us of training arc Jean. Either way, two of the most well written characters. Another instance of his Ni/Se was in the funeral/medal ceremony, how he confidently gave his interpretation of Erwin's character and ideals as a leader, even if he had nothing to go off concretely (aka an absence of factual accuracy), he just took things he noticed in the real world (Se) to build a single intuitive guess about that (his own interpretation), and delivered it quite confidently with no space for what ifs, maybes or potential differing intepretations, indicating Ni>Ne again. Let's talk about yeagerist leader Floch and his politics, how he chooses to lead them, it's all pretty Ni/Se. Learning the truth about the world only solidified his Ni cinclusion and worldview. He's ready to do whatever it takes (Te-Se) in service to his goal, his vision of a free and powerful eldian empire (Ni-Fi) which is honestly pretty naive and idealistic but can you blame him ? The man knows nothing about how the world actually works but is steal ready to do anything to defend the island. Not every ENTJ is gonna be cutt throat all the time, not every ENTJ is gonna be Erwin Smith. Not every somewhat hesitant person is an Si user. It's not because he's generally unlikeable that he's an ESTJ... Overall one of the best written characters in the series, absolute unit and even if he's a total ******* you can't help but admire his resilience.
