𝐏𝐎𝐈𝐍𝐓 𝐎𝐍𝐄: 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐏𝐄𝐑𝐅𝐄𝐂𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍𝐈𝐒𝐓 [1/5] 𝐂𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫 & 𝐈𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐮𝐦𝐚 P1 is part of the Being Group centered around Conservation Instinct. All types from this group struggle with the instinctual question of “How am I?”, referring to the state of their body. This question stems from inner existential sadness and depression. Being Group types are distorted in their sense of Being. Existential sadness comes from depression caused by constant self-questioning of their being (e.g how they are, how they feel, how they should present themselves in front of others) due to trauma with the Mother figure, a figure who gives us life by giving birth to us. To cope with this, they develop Empathetical Reasoning, a way of reasoning to the world by putting oneself in other people’s situation using direct empathy and intuition. This Feeling-based reasoning comes from their abdominal area of viscera, the center of the somatic system that gives us a sense of hunger and satiation. Like and dislike are the expressions of this reasoning, derived from primal sensation between hunger and satisfaction of our stomach. They want to be appreciated, liked, and understood. As they concern with their Conservation, all Being Group types have Greed as their Psychic Poison, related to their need to gain more food and material for the sake of satisfying their digestive system. In P1’s case, the Poison of Greed is derived into Possessiveness, developing into Ego-Resentment. P1 fixates on the Domain of Sentiments, the domain filled with direct and intimate family relationships with a network of sentiments. Possessiveness interiorizes their Feeling-based reasoning, becoming attached with their own judgment of like/dislike. Lack of appreciation makes P1 resentful. This resentment becomes the basis of righteousness and perfection expected in oneself and another, expressed with criticism and cold behavior. The trauma experienced by P1 is related to their Mother figure. P1 perceived the person who gave birth to them as someone unloving, cold, and distant. They lost the familial connection needed in the early stage of life. P1 concluded that their unloving and cold Mother attitude was because the P1 themselves was ugly or undesirable. In other words, they perceive something imperfect happens either with themselves or their Mother. Because they were exposed to coldness and distance with the figure of life, they approach the world this way. Resentment with their mother is projected with their self-righteousness and deep-seated criticism towards imperfection, believing that if they fix every imperfection within themselves and others, they would attain their childhood loss of the perfect, loving, warm Mother figure.
