chanse is my favorite cuz' he's very clearly one of the only te doms on the cast. WITHOUT FAIL, in EVERY COMPETITIVE VIDEO he is in— he will ALWAYS CALL OUT A LOGICAL FALLACY. whether it's with himself or in someone else's performance. and not in an assholeish way! well, sometimes, but he does it sassily enough that it's funny (very te humor coded). i also do think he is an ESTJ and not an ENFJ because he uses so much ne. i mean.. THE SPUD HUT PERFORMANCE *ALONE* IS NE-TERT CODED. i also believe chanse is a 6w5 simply because of his secret nerdiness. a lot of us viewers barely knew how nerdy chanse was when he was first on smosh. we all thought, "wow... this swine doesn't know who anthony is". even arasha has said on video (don't remember which) that she didn't initially know how chanse's nerdiness was such a poignant part of his personality. i think it's super common for te doms to hide their interests/passions since it's basically signifying a weak fi and/or a resistance to engaging with it. also, it's important to note that chanse was closeted for a long time, and he was popular in highschool becausr he conformed. i can confirmn as a queer te dom myself, i also didn't come out until i was a young adult. it's once again— having a weak fi. but i think chanse came out much later since his si is so strong. he's also been recorded on camera saying that his grandma is extremely homophobic, and i think that's the extent that we know about his family (at least as an audirnce). te lore is often having unsupportive family and/or a chaotic personal life, and having someone very close to you be queerphobic is like— the first step to suppressing fi and developing unhealthy usage of te (caring about psuedo systems and about what people think). ON A LIGHTER NOTE ! examples of chanse being te dom that i can think of off the top of my head: • angela and chanse... all the time. just. all the time. that "chocolate or not" episode with amanda, angela, and chanse? i can almost hear "ANGELAAA...." imprinted in my ears • chanse talks very impersonally and impartially when correcting people. whereas angela (love her, but this is true) argues and accuses people openly (and it's funny). if chanse feels unheard or thinks others are being illogical, THEN he gets upsrt because te logic is, "what i said is the smartest choice. why aren't you listening to me?" • tommy and chanse get along so well. i do believe tommy is an ESFJ, and chanse being an ESTJ defines their dynamic so well. exfjs and extjs have a very preppy dynamic for some reason— think gretchen and regina if they actually got along (and/or their inevitable reconciliation off camera after the movie was over) • he calls out people SO well but not in a "i need to be right way"— bro just needs to state what he sees and i love to see it 😭😭 • when he's playing a competitive game, he observes SO keenly. bro is gathering facts to work with that he forgot he's a comedian and he needs to speak. this trait of his initially made me think he was an ni or si dom, but he very clearly doesn't use fi that often, at least not too deeply / not on camera! • i feel like chanse is very aware of general stereotypes against bipoc queer folks. he plays around with these stereotypes a lot in his comedy— satirizing what people think of him and by proxy, the bipoc lbtqia+ community. i can think of his sailor boy character for board af legacy, and his drag persona "amber" debuting on epic mario party fail. • he's super fair-conscious. in epic mario party fail at 20:53, chanse asks everyone (ang, trevor, and shayne) what superlative they got in highschool. shayne promptly says that he was homeschooled, so chanse rephrases the question to, "what superlative would you have wanted?". i feel like this te kindness doesn't come from a place of empathy per say (because chanse went to public hs) but from fairness. an analogy to explain te dom kindness is: te doms see their loved ones as having plates. in a social setting, when te doms are hanging out with their loved ones, they are often naturally upset if 2 of their loved ones have a full plate or get a free ticket to the movies, while another is left out. chanse does demonstrates this te-dom kindness a LOT, but it's so subtle i think it goes undetected a lot of the time in lieu of more obvious demonstrations of kindness, like from fe users (tommy, angela, shayne) or fi users (olivia, courtney). he softly corrects or guides people, or plays off people's embarassments by cracking a joke to put people at ease • one time on smosh mouth, chanse revealed that he kept the name and number of every guy he's slept with or dated. no remorse. straight up scrolling. he called his exes as well, but then also pranked amanda and shayne by calling angela and having ange play along. this reads as te-si to me because why did bro systematically list all of his exes just to reminsence on every now and then?
