Im going to debunk that mushroom is an INFJ(Ni-Fe dominant) sp9w8, and explain how she's actually an ISFP (Fi-Se dominant) sp4w5 Little warning before you start reading, this is just my interpretation from her behaviour. It's very hard to type what mbti she is because the comic isn't long enough to analyse her personality without plot holes in her typology, +most characters in media aren't mbti consistent (not relating to any cognitive function stack) And we don't delve deep enough into her actual thinking process to see what enneagram she is, so take my enneagram description with a grain of salt because I'll only be judging it by how she reacts externally. But even with all of those contradictions, i still gathered enough information to positively say that she's obviously not an INFJ OR e9. Also spoilers for the comic ahead ‼️‼️ Why she isn't INFJ= -Through the whole comic it's very clear that she goes by her own moral compass (more on that later). which contradicts the Fe in INFJ completely -What about INFJ's Ni? I actually think her Ni is more dominant than her Se because i struggled to see any Se signs in her, but ISFP is the most accurate to her Fi-Ni dominant, Stacking with: Fi-Se-Ni-Te. And thats another reason why i didn't type her as INFP: Fi-Ne-Si-Te (the only time we see mushroom use Ne was in ep 21 where she scratches out her inner dialogue saying "just do it right, lets just scarch buildings, maybe you can eat canned food" after dynamite asked her a question. There are more Ni signs than Ne signs) Why she isn't enneagram 9= -e9's are called the "sloth" enneagram, due to their behaviour of following through routines for comfort. They are characterised by a driven desire of outer peace, harmony, and stability. If an e9's comfort is taken away, they would most likely try to numb it out by comfort habits and entertainment. And specifically for e9w8's, they will aggressively defend their autonomy and personal space. -Mushroom has not exhibited any of these behaviours at all, if an e9 was in her shoes (the school being awfully quiet at the start and her home the inner rings being classified as dangerous). E9's would likely go into a spiral and start disintegrating because of how their comfort zone is ruined, but even with all of that information mushroom kept calm and instead focused her safety to dynamite. Also she isn't as harmony oriented as a typical e9 would be, she's very confrontational if there's a problem, and maybe that's why people say she has a wing8, but she's missing the core of enneagram 9 completely. Why shes enneagram 4 (specifically sp4)= -sp4's are the contradiction of the usual 4's, characterised by endurance, stoicism, and a drive to work hard to obtain what they lack. Taking challenges and suffering in silence to prove their worth. Sp4's are known to keep their emotional intensity private, preferring self reliance. -she has done everything an sp4 would do. She even outright admits to dynamite in ep 87, saying "you know im bad at talking about feelings" "its just how i am". And dynamite confronting her in ep 99 saying: "I know you don't like talking when you're upset but.. i feel like we're losing each other" "i love you but you make me feel stupid. And i know you don't think im stupid... That's why.. i wish you would talk to me.." -like i mentioned before, instead of her panicking when she found out that the inner rings were abandoned. She immediately sprung into action to take both of them to safety, and has done this SO many times. Everything that they've done to survive, is always planned by her from the start. Her helping dynamite to hunt for food, her moving deeper into the outer rings because winter is coming soon, her helping dynamite shed his winter coat, her planning on running away from the pack even if it failed, and her attacking the parasite before everyone else does. Shes always using her own moral compass(also a Fi indicator) and taking initiation first because she knows that dynamite isn't capable enough to handle most situations by himself. -and a reason why she's w5 and not 3? She's very introspective and needs extra time to process that happen even when it's offscreen and only implied, she also doesn't care enough what other people think to be a wing3. also bonus in ep 57, she exhibits a classic e4 mindset of being tied to their pain.
