revising my enneagram section of this post (and some minor touches in the MBTI part) adam's the most difficult of the *** boys to type. i think he's definitely on the Se/Ni axis. an example would be his commitment to ruining bits with his fact corners instead of letting nick say something funny. these stand out as very much Se > Si or Ne - they're just the facts, with very little subjective quality to adam friedland beyond him hearing that fact previously and thinking it was neat, compare this to nick's Si where so many of his recollections have some subjective attachment to them. on the judging axis, it's hard for me to say if him remaining so ice cool while being the eternal butt of nick and stav's abuse is because he knows the roles on the pod and doesn't wanna rock the boat (Fe) or because he's so unwaveringly confident in his own skin that anything they throw at him is like water off a duck's back (Fi). i think this is where the breaking point in typing him lies. i was in between INFJ (i see a good amount of Ni-Ti in him, nick was spot on when he said adam was the "'i knew it' kid in school") and ISFP, but i think the latter is more likely here. you can see an example of his dom Fi and inf Te clash during the cool adam bit. he gets so genuinely hot because his unique place within the pod, and more acutely his identity and sense of self (Fi) is being threatened by a constructed doppelganger with the same traits but cooler (better, more efficient, more valuable) and that despite being so similar, cool adam is more well received than he is by nick and stav (Te). "you're so desperate to be cool, that you don't even wanna be acknowledged as cool," this nick quote basically saying "you're so wrapped up in this facade of your own sense of self (Fi) that you pretend you don't even want our tribal recognition (Te)," even though the recognition obviously isn't legitimate. its like they've distilled his essence and are laughing at it for not being good enough, and his reaction is an expression of inferior Te. enneagram-wise, he is 9 core, 1 wing, 947 for sure. i thought he had 5 as his head fix for a while because he's kind of a pseud, but triple withdrawn obviously doesn't fit. also, all of this is for gay adam, not cool adam, who deserves his own page. that dude rocks.
