"Que tipo de personalidade é Rafe Cameron? Rafe Cameron é um tipo de personalidade ESTP em mbti, 6w7 - sx/sp - 638 em enneagram, SLUEN em Big 5, SEE em sociônicos."
This is not a comment on Rafe Cameron's personality or enneagram, it is a personal reflection on the character. In my opinion, Rafe Cameron is the best character in all of Outer Banks. Not so much because of his physical appearance, which is a reality that Drew Starkey, the actor who plays Rafe Cameron, is undeniably attractive and gives a first-class performance, but because he is the character with the clearest development in the entire show. In season 1, Rafe is presented as someone self-centered, classist, arrogant, impulsive, impatient, reckless and violent, but he is also shown as someone who is immature, insecure, manipulable and not capable of facing adversity. As positive traits among all the negative, it is also seen that he is a direct, serious, realistic person, but also protective towards those he cares about, such as when he hits Pope in revenge for pointing a gun at Topper (even though it was JJ the one who did it), or when he warns Sarah of the danger of stealing from Barry, and empathetic, since it is shown that he feels guilty for his actions and that he wants to redeem himself and be a better person. Be careful, Rafe is far from being a saint, but he shows us how even he has limits and that he is aware of his problems. His unstable behavior and desperate search for approval from his father was what caused Rafe to kill Sheriff Peterkin, which is a very notable falling point for Rafe. This brings us to season 2, and here the most changing and unstable version of the character is shown, but we also see Rafe constantly trying to prove it to him. to his father who is equal to or better than Sarah, that this is a point that has greatly influenced Rafe, his feeling of having been rejected and ignored by his father, which explains his addiction to cocaine and his explosive behavior. After this, in the second half of season 2, after the false death of his father, we see how Rafe is the one who takes complete charge of the family and all the dirty work, such as with the cross and doing business with Limbrey and Renfield, and shows quite noticeable maturity and competence, disposing of Renfield's body, recovering the cross and defending it from Pope, and in the season 2 finale, after his father's accident due to the fight with John B, that he is the one who takes charge of the family businesses. And this is where we get to season 3, which for me demonstrates Rafe's true prime as a character. After the events of season 2, we see a Rafe who, despite maintaining his impulsive and selfish behavior, shows himself to be a much more mature, independent, serious, proactive, assertive and brave Rafe, being much more assertive and dominant with Barry and with his father and facing adversity in a much more effective way than in previous seasons. In short, Rafe becomes an all-around man. Furthermore, it is shown at the end of the season, in his last appearances, how he does the right thing and saves his father from his murderer, whether due to Sofia's influence or because of his love for his father. I hope Rafe fully redeems himself in season 4, because in some ways he's following the same path his father did and becoming more and more like him, in the good sense of the word. It's a shame that most of the fandom of this series only focuses on the physical appearance of the characters and ignores the character itself.
