Personalidade

"Que tipo de personalidade é Peter Petrelli? Peter Petrelli é um tipo de personalidade INFP em mbti, 4w5 - - 495 em enneagram, em Big 5, IEI em sociônicos."

Sorry, Universe. That's how I'm starting this. I just have to disagree with consensus. Pity my soul. Snakes coil around me. Squeeze the life out. I've made myself a target. Whatever. Hey, let's get down to business, shall we? Of course, I could always just pretend I've explained myself, like the early days on PDB. Okay, I hope to convince some of you that Peter is not an INFJ. Here goes. Peter: "There's something I should tell you. Something, uh...I didn't think was right to say when I still worked for your father. Something I wouldn't have even said to you two days ago. I've been in love with you since the minute I first laid eyes on you." This quote examples Peter's use of Subjective Metrics/Values/Limitation (Fi). ✅ Notice how Peter comments to Simone "Something I wouldn't have even said to you two days ago." This is Peter expressing his feelings building on precision (Fi), not accuracy (Fe), which is why even though he can rationalize most people probably would have admitted feelings "two days ago" he had to wait. ✅ Notice also how Peter revealed to Simone that his feeling he "didn't think was right to say" when he was working, taking care of her dying father. What does this tell us about Peter's personality type? Personally, I think it's evidence that he doesn't lead with a perception function (Ni, Si, Ne, Se), or a detached-based function (Fe, Te, Ne, Se). So, what I have to work with to determine Peter's dominant function is (1) it's a reception function (Fi, Ti, Fe, Te), but (2) it's an attached-based function (Fi, Ti). Now, between these two attached-based reception functions I see more indication of Peter being a dominant introverted feeler (Fi). Peter: "I know you want to help me. You're my big brother and you fix everything but you can't. You can't fix this one this time." This quote examples Peter's use of Objective Knowledge/Expectancy (Ne). ✅ Notice how Peter attaches meaning to "big brother" as if it implies an unconnected objective meaning like "you fix everything" for your little brother. This sort of idea about "big brother" is formulated through seeking knowledge and expectancy from the external object active influence rather than the internal subject active influence, i.e. Peter's ideation is in no way deviating from the norm enough to make him an introverted intuitive, let alone lead with that function. No. Peter is evidently an extraverted intuitive. Peter: "This isn't about you, all right? Something is happening to me, and I have this feeling that you're the only person that's gonna understand this." Nathan: "Why the hell would I understand that you think you can fly?" Peter: "Because you're my brother." This dialogue further examples Peter's use of Objective Knowledge/Expectancy (Ne). Peter: "You Chandra Suresh?" Mohinder: "No. That was my father." Peter: "Yeah, um... Your father wrote a book about people with... abilities. I-I think I may be one of them." This dialogue examples Peter's use of Subjective Opportunism/Asceticism (Si). ✅ Notice Peter's lack of self-confirmation. Compare Peter to Sylar (an Ni user) and note how Peter makes his decisions subjected in the moment (Si). He's not telling himself a narrative like Sylar and all Ni users tell themselves. Heck. Even lower Ni users narrate their lives, e.g. Sawyer (ESTP who keeps hold of a letter = narrative he wrote) from the show "Lost." You can see, there really isn't any strong justification for claiming Peter to be an INFJ. He isn't cognitively functioning FUNCTIONING with Subjective Knowledge/Expectancy (Ni), but rather his perceptual eggs are in the basket of Si. Peter: "I'm going to make you pay for everything you've ever done." Arthur: "Son, until you change that attitude, you're grounded." This exchange alludes to Peter's inferior function probably being a reception function, most likely Objective Optics/Symbols/Vantage (Te). Caitlin: "I'm going with you." Peter: "No. I'm not risking your life too." This exchange examples Peter's use of Objective Optics/Symbols/Vantage (Te). ✅ Notice how Peter is comparing values independently (Fi) to issue collective order (Te). ✅ Notice how throughout the series Peter has difficulty overseeing and utilizing others in an adaptive way, e.g. when he plans to have Mohinder meet Isaac for the first time he ends up wasting Mohinder's time, because he hadn't thought enough to contact Isaac and see if he'd be available, which shows not just maladaptive thinking, but it also shows no consciousness of Subjective Knowledge/Expectancy (Ni). Peter is evidently not an INFJ. Peter: "Ever get the feeling you're meant to do something extraordinary?" I think it's fair to the evidence to admit Peter Petrelli is most probable an INFP.
