"Que tipo de personalidade é Always Order the Same Thing at a Restaurant? Always Order the Same Thing at a Restaurant é um tipo de personalidade ISTJ em mbti, 6w5 - sp/so - 612 em enneagram, RCOEN em Big 5, SLI em sociônicos."
ISTJ, I understand. SLI, I understand. 6? What on earth about 6 makes them likely to do this? I'm not saying that we're particularly enthusiastic about eating anything new, but this is the most 9-ish thing a person could possibly do. Point 9 is the residency of ideas such as routine, predictability, comfort, and stability. Part of the 9's defence mechanism is self-narcotization, which involves things like falling into routines and comforts in order to escape the stresses of life. In fact, enneagram author Eli Jaxon-Bear mentions this exact topic in his description of the 9. "The defence mechanism of narcotization is often expressed through habit and routine. A Nine who breaks a habit often feels as if he’s lost a piece of himself. Nines rely on habits that enable them to go to sleep while the habits act as automatic pilots. These are people who may have the same breakfast every day, year after year. I once read a news story about a man who went to the same diner every day for forty-two years and ordered the same meal." On top of that, Self-Preservation 9s are said to do this exact thing to an even greater extent, as Beatrice Chestnut points out in her descriptions. "The combination of the passion of laziness and the dominant instinct for self-preservation in Nines results in a personality subtype that Naranjo, following Ichazo, calls “Appetite.” The deeper motivation of this subtype of Type Nine is finding a sense of comfort in the world through the satisfaction of physical needs. This personality finds satisfaction in activities such as eating, reading, playing games, watching television, sleeping, or even working (if work is a comfortable thing to do)." How on earth is eating the same thing at a restaurant every time you go there a 6 thing? How is it anything if not in the domain of the rountine-loving and comfort-seeking point 9?
