Behaves similarly to a Beta on the surface, but isn't Beta. He definitely got the dramatic flair, charismatic presentation and grand speeches that can make people think of Beta at first glance. He likes appearing larger by acting superior and standing above others but unlike a true Beta, he doesn't actually operate around collective structure or a shared ideological vision. Beta wants people to unite under some system or greater purpose, even if that purpose is twisted. Charming over here doesn't genuinely care about building a society or maintaining order, he's Gamma through and through. Everything ultimately circles back to personal ambition, self-interest and his own desires. He doesn't value followers as comrades or members of a greater movement because he treats them like and disposable tools. Gai, the DV7 members and Mala only mattered as long as they were useful and done something productive to him. Once they stopped benefiting him, he discarded them without hesitation. His motivations are also deeply personal rather than ideological, wasn't even trying to create a "better world" because he believed in some grand philosophy (well, that was mostly self-justification, lol). What he truly wanted was control over his own fate and freedom from the weakness and humiliation he experienced in the past. Even his fear doesn't really resemble Beta's fear of losing status within a hierarchy. He instead fears losing control over himself, fear of becoming the same helpless person he once was. Also, the way he manipulates others also feels more Gamma than Beta. He doesn't inspire loyalty through shared emotional movements or group unity, he manipulates through deals and leverage. He also constantly calculates what people can provide him and what he can gain from them. Lonky is the better Beta rep here, not Charming.
