Alexandru I Mușat - Alexandru cel Bun (Alexander the Good) (13?? [probably around 1370] - 1 Jan.1432) was a Voivode (Prince) of Moldavia between 29 June 1400 and 1 Jan.1432. He initiated a series of reforms, organised the different high offices, created the "Council of the Voivode" and its head, the Chancellor, promoted economical development, improved the situation of commerce and the trading routes, consolidated the international status of Moldavia, forged a system of alliances with the neighbouring states, improved the fortifications and in 1420 he defended Moldavia against the first incursion by the Ottomans.
