Practitioners are known as Shinobi, and are taught skills that most schools of Martial Arts don't include. Ninjutsu was invented mostly as an alternative form of Espionage. Ninja were trained mostly to serve as spies or scouts, and rarely did any assassination despite having every capability to do so. Ninjutsu's origin is mostly unknown, it had no single master thus almost anyone can practice it effectively.
