History Jiang Wei is most likely XNTJ Te - Fi Jiang Wei and Zhang Yi were not on good terms since Zhang Yi took on a pro-peace stance and would openly speak against him. It was written that they openly hated each other. But Jiang Wei was aware of Zhang Yi's abilities and still forced him to join himself on his campaigns (and died together in the same revolt, oh well...). If Jiang Wei was Fe, I think he at least would have tried to give reasons/argue for his position, but he didn't, he just used his position to force people to join him. This person also did not care about presenting himself in a frugal/humble/rich way, he just spent all his money at once the moment he gets his pay but never on materialistic goods since he showed no interest 😂 I don't know, is this inferior Se...? When he was at a political disadvantage he just took his army with him to 屯田 (in name the soldiers were preparing for war by settling down on an area by planting crops they need, but in effect it allowed him to keep the military power on him so he wouldn't be killed, but the obvious result was that he lost a lot of trust within the kingdom). Te - Fi, NiSe? Another time was when Jiang Wei joined Shu, his mother wrote a letter asking him to 'return home' (当归, which was also a name of a herb), and he replied in pun "良田百顷，不在一亩；但有远志，不在当归" (a good field of 100 qing is not in 1 'mu' (puns with 'mother'), when you have 'high aspirations' (name of a herb), your heart is not in 'returning home' (herb)). The problem with this story which was criticised by Confucian scholars was that his comment/joke was very rude at the time. Jiang Wei was learned and enjoyed the teachings of Zheng Xuan (who was big on returning to Confucian traditions), but his words went against the value of filial piety. I personally find this incident/his form of humour a very XNTX thing. His whole campaign was also an attempt to open up new opportunities and force Wei to make a mistake. His technique of creating an opening and fishing the enemies from there also seemed like a tertiary extroverted sensing? I am not sure where to place his Se, or know whether Te or Ni comes first, but so far I will put him at INTJ? He's more about only dealing with people getting into his way (esp his campaigns) and is not as expansive in minding other things (political scene). I personally am not very familiar with the typings though, feel free to make another conclusion from the information I have shared and I am happy to change my vote.
