I think she's actually 2w3 over 3w2. She DESPERATELY wants to be liked and admired by her daughter's friends; her main motivation seems to be admiration and others' love, rather than outright success or ambition. (A 3w2 parent would be much more competitive: still outwardly friendly towards Regina's friends, but she would pressure Regina to win the Christmas talent show, Spring Fling queen, wanting her to go to the family college, etc. Regina does all that competitiveness on her own.) Desperately trying to relate to her daughters while letting Regina walk all over her in order to have "a good mother daughter relationship" seems more like unhealthy 2.
