I have a feeling that when it comes to asking a person questions, God would do so while already knowing the answer. Sort of testing people in a way. And I think the Speaker of God here is the same way. Which you can tell by how she represented flashbacks from back in Season 1. In the Bible, when God created Adam and Eve, they weren't ashamed when they were naked. He forbade them to eat the forbidden fruit from the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil. But once they disobeyed God, He asked them why he was hiding from him. When Adam answered that he was ashamed because he was naked, God asked "Who told you 'you were naked?' Did you eat the fruit that I forbade you to eat?" (I don't recall the exact words but anyway).
