Every enneagram type has 2 wings but one of them is more developed than other. Every type 5 has wing 4 and wing 6. Types 5, 6 and 7 belong to fear triad. Type 6 is the most fearful type because of type 5 and type 7's influence (there's only fear). Type 5 has type 6 and 4's influence - fear and shame. A Fear guides the head (type 5). A shame guides the heart (type 4). INTJs 5w6 are less fearful than 6w5 because their main type is 5 but definitely they are more fearful than 3 or 8. Because they are type 5 they have also wing 4 but less developed than their wing 6. That wing 4 is responsible for tertiary Fi (being authentic and unique). The wing 6 is responsible for identifying themselves with lost cases and being loyal to them until the very end. Andrew Ryan is definitely a rebellious 5w6/6w5 INTJ. These types tend to start to sabotage their own work when they see everything they have built and valued is close to the end (their utopia/vision). Never defeated by their enemies but dead because they chose to die on their own rules (their strong will was proven). It's a pure example of INTJ from head traid who has built something outside his head (it's really hard for these types so when they did it, they value it a lot) and someone wants to take it away from him. Examples: he burnt his private forest to the ground because of Congress, he set the core to self-destruct because of Fontaine, he was trying to kill the player because he was afraid of the CIA, KGB, Fontaine etc. Where do you see 3w4 or 8w9? 3w4 is almost fully guided by shame. 8w9 is almost fully guided by anger. The only types guided by fear are 5, 6 and 7 where the type 6 is guided by fear the most. Remember what he said in Smuggler's Hideout? 'There's two ways to deal with mystery: uncover it, or eliminate it.' These actions were triggered mainly by fear [of the unknown]. This man was afraid of the unknown and it seems like all the time he was escaping from something - even the fact he has locked himself in the office and no one could even enter the room because of his solid defence system. It's totally paranoid reaction and feeling the lack of control of the environment (lack of trust of one's environment). 3w4, 8w9? I don't see 3 and 9 in him at all. You are mad guys. This man was guided by fear. One thing that keep me wondering is that the idea of Rapture is very Ni+Fi but building the city is very Te+Se. So most of INTJs like Ayn Rand or even Andrew Ryan (if he would be exist) rather would be write a book about it instead of building it in the external world. But once again, he is far more INTJ (formula - Rapture) than ESTP/ENTJ (adaptability - Frank Fontaine). Of course, you may be mistyping 6w5 and 5w6 (they both have 5 and 6 tendencies) but thinking Andrew Ryan was 3 or 8 is absolutely ridiculous. There's no f!@#$%^ way. Type 6 when obsessed with sth or loyal to sth has the most dangerous behavior in the entire enneagram. I don't see here type 3, 8, 9's tendencies at all. But I can see type 4's tendencies as a smaller wing. So he can be a 5w6 who values knowledge, development, authenticity and identify himself with the lost case (his Rapture) and defend it until the very end to finally sabotage it (destroying it himself not letting do it by his enemy).
